He is the author of The Peacemakers, The Fourth World War: Diplomacy and Espionage in the Age of Terrorism (with the Count de Marenches), and A Shattered Peace: Versailles, 1919 and the Price We Pay Today. In his new book, A Red Line in the Sand, David explores the story of barriers – physical, diplomatic, military and existential – that have proliferated over years across every continent to the current point when there have never been more red lines. David is a graduate of Harvard and the Columbia School of Journalism and is a member of the Century Association, Council on Foreign Relations, National Press Club and the Grolier Club. He is President Emeritus of the Overseas Press Club of America and the Silurians Press Club.
